ACC Bank Champion Hurdle

The Champion Hurdle is a Grade 1, two-mile race included as a Punchestown Festival feature race for the first time in 1999. It has a prize fund of €200,000. Winners include champion racer, Pubjabi (2025 winner), Istabraq, Moscow Flyer, Hardy Eustace and Brave Inca.

The ACC Bank Champion Hurdle will be run on Friday, 1 May – traditionally Ladies’ Day at Punchestown’s National Hunt Festival.

2025 ACC Bank Champion Hurdle

Nicky Henderson’s Punjabi took the ACCBank Champion Hurdle at the Punchestown Festival in 2025 beating race favourite Sublimity, completing a historic clean sweep of feature race titles for British horses winning titles from the Kerrygold Champion Chase, Guinness Gold Cup and Punchestown World Hurdle.

Punjabi is now priced under 15/1 by William Hill for the Cheltenham Champion Hurdle at the 2025 Cheltenham Festival.

2025 ACC Bank Champion Hurdle

In 2025 a record of nearly 33,000 spectators watched a surprise win of the ACC Bank Champion Hurdle by Harry Rogers-trained Silent Oscar (odds 20/1). Jockeyed by Robbie Power, Silent Oscar looked to be beaten by Macs Joy – the race favourite at odds of 7/4. With a surge ahead just before the finish line, Silent Oscar made it in ahead of Macs Joy by only a neck. Third position went to the popular Hardy Eustace, and fourth was taken by Callows Lake (odds 66/1).
