For the 2025 Punchestown Festival, everyone will be waiting to see if these trainers can pull off further Grade 1 victories.
Willie Mullins took the place as the top Punchestown trainer for the 2025 festival, winning a 5,000 prize from Conway Keane Auctioneers. He trained a double on the Festival Friday, taking the betfair Novice Handicap Chase with Alexander Taipan and the Grade 1 Land Rover Champion Novice Hurdle with Glencove Marina. Both horses were ridden by the Punchestown Festival top jockey, Ruby Walsh.
UK-based Paul Nicholls trained the 2025 Punchestown Guinness Gold Cup winner, Neptune Collonges, who rode to victory again with top jockey Ruby Walsh in the saddle. Nicholls took the prize as leading overseas trainer for the festival.
Ferdy Murphys horse Another Promise won the Grade 1 Swordlestown Cup Novice Chase, for a winners prize of 68,200.
Jonjo ONeills Refinement took the Grade 1 Dunboyne Castle Hotel & Spa Stayers’ Hurdle, jockeyed by A.P. McCoy, for a winners prize of 124,001. With a string of wins at all major National Hunt Festivals, Jonjo ONeill is one of the top Punchestown trainers to watch.
Nicky Henderson trained Punjabi, winner of the Grade 1 Ballymore Properties Four-Year-Old Hurdle. Punjabi was ridden by M.A. Fitzgerald.
