Punchestown Festival Betting Tips

Excellent horse racing betting odds may be tempting, but it’s also a good idea to keep a few other factors in mind when placing bets.

  • Previous Punchestown Festival winners know the Punchestown Racecourse and have proved they have what it takes to stay the course and come out ahead. 2025 winners of the Punchestown Festival feature races were Neptune Collonges, Blazing Bailey, Twist Magic and Punjabi.
  • Because the Punchestown Festival occurs in April – right at the end of the National Hunt season and just two weeks after the Irish Grand National – you can base your bets on the performance of horses at other top racing events. Any horse with a winning streak at the Irish Grand National, Cheltenham and Aintree is an obvious horseracing betting choice.
  • For a win with the best-paying odds, look for potential champion horses that underperform in races prior to the one on which you plan to bet.
  • Recent good form doesn’t always indicate a likely position or win. Some horses may do better at particular distances or on certain courses – and of course, a surprise is always possible!
