2007 ACC Bank Champion Hurdle
In 2007 a record of nearly 33,000 spectators watched a surprise win of the ACC Bank Champion Hurdle by Harry Rogers-trained Silent Oscar (odds 20/1). Jockeyed by Robbie Power, Silent Oscar looked to be beaten by Macs Joy – the race favourite at odds of 7/4. With a surge ahead just before the finish line, Silent Oscar made it in ahead of Macs Joy by only a neck. Third position went to the popular Hardy Eustace, and fourth was taken by Callows Lake (odds 66/1).
